Central Alberta Theatre was founded in 1970 from an amalgamation of Parkland Players and Red Deer Musical Theatre. C.A.T. is now one of the oldest amateur theatre groups in Canada. Its very first production was "Oklahoma" which was performed on the stage at the Red Deer Memorial Centre.
