Synopsis: 
Old friends and lovers gather for a cabin getaway in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains – unaware of an escaped convict lurking in the woods nearby. How will they overcome the threats they face? What will they discover about one another? The Love “Row” Boat illustrates how ordinary people, old or young, can defend themselves, overcome struggles, and make sacrifices for the ones they love.

ALBERT AZZARA

Playwright and Director

Mr Azzara marks his fortieth year with CAT this year. He has directed for CAT (Barefoot in the Park, Cinderella Dances With the Stars), and acted in dozens of productions. He has also appeared with Centre Stage, Red Deer Players and Red Deer Readers' Theatre. Now that he has retired after 30+ years of teaching, he spends the bulk of his time writing plays in a variety of genres ranging from children's theatre to dramas. His next play, “Swingers - A Love Story”, will be presented in the Nickle Studio in readers' theatre-style in the last week of November.

JENNIE BEAL

Vivian Vance

Jennie has performed with CAT since 2014. Roles include a princess in Cinderella Dances With The Stars; the Sleepy Nobbit in Snow White And The Seven Nobbits ; Bridget in Murder in Las Vegas; and Air Raids & Siren Songs, a Remembrance Day play she performed in memory of her father. Jennie is very excited to perform in THE LOVE (row) BOAT. She hopes everyone enjoys the show! “You kinda owe it to yourself to do all the things you dreamed.”

CYNTHIA EDWARDS

Lenore Green

Cynthia has had the good fortune to appear both on- and off-stage in a number of CAT productions since 2005. Some roles you might remember are Gladys in Gladys in Wonderland, Catherine in Waiting for the Parade, the Fairy Godmother/Postal Worker in Cinderella Dances with the Stars, and Edith in Cliffhanger. She gives her sincere thanks to everyone who helped bring this show to life, and all of you for coming to see it – enjoy!

Ed GreenActing since 2005, Michael has performed with CAT, Ignition Theatre, Innisfail Town Theatre and Improv Jelly. You may remember him from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Fishing for Frank, Alice in Wonderland and Nuts (ITT). He is fortunate to have directed shows such as Cliffhanger (2019) with many wonderful, gifted people. He is very happy to participate in this production as it will bring to life, once again, a locally-written work. Hope you all enjoy the show!

DRU CHRISTENSEN

Stage Manager

Dru joined CAT in 1997, and has since volunteered in virtually every production position, including cast. Some of her favourite shows include “Nunsense,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and “Evita.” Stage management is her favourite role, and she takes great pleasure in watching a director weave a story together and help the actors grow into their parts along the way. She invites you to sit back, relax, (possibly) picture yourself on a beach, and take in the laughs and the message of “THE LOVE (row) BOAT.”

Fred Vance

Perry has acted in several one-act and multi-act plays with Central Alberta Theatre, most recently Unnecessary Farce, as well as It’s a Wonderful Life, produced by Ignition Theatre, and in the Breaking Cover series with the Red Deer Players. Perry is excited to play Fred in this production of THE LOVE (row) BOAT!

DUSTIN FUNK

Richard Alan Tyler

Dustin Funk’s love for acting began in his hometown of Consort when he was in junior and high school. He was involved in Consort’s amateur dinner theatre, and has since graduated RDC’s Theatre Performance and Creation and Motion Picture Arts programs. He appeared in Summertime, The Comedy of Errors, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Shrek the Musical, and many student films. Previously, he appeared in Mending Fences and Crimes of the Heart with CAT.

TANNER ROBINSON

Constable Abe Tucker

Tanner has been performing on stage since age 8, but his friends and family would tell you he hasn't stopped performing since the day he was born. This is his first show with CAT and it has been such a great opportunity! He has enjoyed learning from these amazing actors, who helped him every step of the way, explaining every “classic” reference made in the show to him! Thank you to the whole company for all the work put into this show, and to our amazing writer-director for making the process fun. All my gratitude goes out to my family and friends for supporting my performing career! Tanner thanks you for seeing THE LOVE (row) BOAT!

Helen Shipley

After a four-year hiatus from amateur theatre, Nicole is happy to be returning to CAT. Previous endeavours include Looking, Cinderella Dances With The Stars, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, My Three Angels and Booster McCrane, P.M. Nicole spends the majority of her time as a junior high and high school English teacher (although drama creeps in now and again). She has worked as a group spin instructor and a former competitor. She is more than pleased to be on the stage with CAT and looks forward to this and future performances.
